Abide in Me

Are you abiding continually in Jesus? Do you know the joy of being hidden in Christ? Let go of your struggle to manage your daily affairs, choosing rather to give all your burdens to Jesus. Why do you insist upon doing things your own way, when Jesus is calling you to Himself? Perhaps it is you enjoy fretting and worrying about every little thing. Would it not be better to just let it all go and be free of it once and for all? Will you come to our great Healer and Physician today?

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (Matthew 6:33-34)

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.” [Jesus is the vine.]

“Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.” [We are branches from the vine which is to bear fruit.}

“Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.”

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.” [We cannot bear fruit apart from Jesus.]

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” [Same teaching repeated again to emphasize its importance.]

“If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.” [Failure to abide in Jesus leads to hell.]

“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” [Our prayers will be hear when we abide continually in Jesus.]

“Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.” [The Father obtains glory when we abide in Jesus and bear fruit.]

“As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.”

“If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.”

“These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”

“This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.”

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:1-13)

May you come to know all the riches in Christ Jesus,
